Data Collection

Sam Soft Privacy Shield does NOT collect, store, or transmit any user data to external servers. We have no analytics, no tracking, and no data collection of any kind.

Local Storage Only

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. This includes:

• Extension settings and preferences
• Encrypted passwords (if you use the password vault feature)
• Activity logs (trackers blocked, fingerprint attempts)
• Whitelisted domains
• Protection statistics

This data never leaves your computer.

Third-Party Services

This extension does NOT use any third-party analytics, tracking, or data collection services. We do not integrate with Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking service.

Permissions Explained

The extension requests the following permissions, and here's why:

• storage: Store settings and data locally on your device
• tabs: Monitor and protect your browsing activity
• activeTab: Access the current tab to apply protection
• webRequest: Block trackers and fingerprinting attempts
• declarativeNetRequest: Block tracking domains efficiently
• notifications: Show optional blocking alerts
• privacy: Control WebRTC and cookie settings
• alarms: Implement auto-lock timer
• browsingData: Clear browsing data when requested

Your Control

You have complete control over your data:

• View all stored data in the Settings page
• Export your protection statistics as JSON
• Clear activity logs at any time
• Reset all extension data with one click
• Uninstall the extension to remove all data

Encryption

Passwords stored in the vault are encrypted using military-grade AES-256-GCM encryption. Your master password is hashed using PBKDF2 with 100,000 iterations. We never store your master password in plain text.

Donations

We accept optional PayPal donations to support development. When you click the donation link, you are redirected to PayPal's website. We do not collect any payment information ourselves. Donations are entirely optional and do not affect functionality.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the extension's store listing and in the extension itself.
